Braithwaite & Co. Ltd. (BCL) has Designed, Developed & Manufactured the New BLSS Wagons (Spine Cars) in its Clive (Kolkata) Works. New BLSS Wagons (Spine Cars) are specialized 25T Axle load Flat cars designed specifically to carry intermodal containers and trailers. These are optimized to carry all types of containers and therefore bring in more flexibility for transportation.
The BLSS Wagon design is lean and its structure is more robust and lighter. The carrying capacity of the rake would, therefore, increase by 7.4% making it commercially advantageous. The First Rake of Newly built BLSS Wagons was Flagged Off on 5th March 2023 from its Clive (Kolkata) Works by Shri Sanjiv Garg, MD, Pipavav Railway Corporation Ltd. (PRCL), Sri Saurav
