Vi Delivers Best 4G Network Experience in West Bengal and Kolkata circles: Opensignal Report

Leading telecom operator, Vodafone Idea (Vi), today announced that it has been recognized for its exceptional 4G network experience in Kolkata and West Bengal* circles. As highlighted in Opensignal’s 4G Network Experience Report November 2024*, where it examines the 4G experience of smartphone 4G users. Vi leads in all the consumer experience parameters delivering an outstanding Data, Voice, Video, and Gaming experience across the state.

The Opensignal report highlights Vi’s network superiority across Kolkata and West Bengal circles covering the two states- West Bengal and Sikkim. Be it the challenging terrains of North Bengal or Sikkim, the remotest locations in the states, or densely populated urban areas, Vi ensures highest 4G data speeds in the region, providing users with unparalleled 4G Video and Gaming experiences. The report also ranks Vi as the top performer in 4G voice app experience and as a leader across most consumer experience categories.

This recognition reflects Vi’s sustained efforts to enhance network performance across the Kolkata and West Bengal Circles. As part of these efforts, operating on the L900, L1800 and L2100 spectrum bands in Kolkata and West Bengal circles, Vi has significantly increased its 4G capacity in the regions and operates across more than 12000 4G sites ensuring seamless network coverage and faster internet speeds for the users.

In recent months, Vi has added new layers of 900 Mhz spectrum in over 6800 sites to deliver a stronger indoor coverage experience for its users. Vi has also added a significant number of new sites across the region for seamless connectivity. To further strengthen its network capacity, Vi plans to add nearly 1,000 new sites across the two circles in the coming months, ensuring even more reliable and faster connectivity for its users.

Earlier this year in April, Vi successfully raised Rs. 18,000 crore via FPO and is committed to ramp up and enhance its 4G network nationwide. These investments have played a pivotal role in achieving superior connectivity in the region.

• Vi Guarantee Program: Designed for 5G and new 4G smartphone users, this program ensures 130GB of guaranteed extra data over a year, with 10GB credited every 28 days for 13 consecutive cycles. Prepaid customers with recharge packs worth ₹299 and above can avail of this benefit.
• Vi Max Postpaid -Choice: Vi’s ‘Choice’ is the only proposition in the industry that gives customers full control with the freedom to opt for exclusive lifestyle benefits that are relevant to them. With ‘Choice’, customers can choose from an array of benefits from four different categories like Entertainment, Food, Travel, and Mobile Security, as per their requirement or interest.
