On the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja, the union home minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, graced the inauguration of the Ram temple-themed Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata, West Bengal.
Highlighting the profound impact of the Ram mandir-themed Durga Pandal, Shri Shah emphasized its role in disseminating the message of the upcoming Ram Mandir in Ayodhya to a global audience, even before its completion.
“The Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya in January 2024. I congratulate the people of Kolkata for inaugurating another Ram Mandir,” said Shah.
In his address to the gathering, Shri Amit Shah emphasized the significance of Maa Durga’s valour and recounted her legendary triumphs over various demons, from Raktabeej to Shumbha-Nishumbha, in her pursuit to uphold truth and righteousness.
Shri Shah highlighted the essence of the nine-day festival in West Bengal to be profound as the devotion to Maa Durga resonates across the numerous pandals worshipping the goddess in the region.
He further elaborated on the diverse ways in which Maa Durga is worshipped throughout the country during Navratri, with Gujarat adorning the Mandap of Maa Durga, Eastern India engrossed in the vibrancy of Durga Puja pandals, and various rituals being performed in North India to venerate the divine power of Shakti.
Expressing his heartfelt prayers to Maa Durga, Shri Amit Shah extended his wishes for the well-being, peace, and prosperity of the entire nation, including the people of West Bengal.
