Local manufacturing began in 1998 at the Pithampur plant, which became the foundation of Bridgestone’s manufacturing presence in India. Over the years, the company has steadily expanded its footprint, strengthened local manufacturing capabilities in 2013 with a new plant in Chakan, Pune, and built a trusted brand known for innovation and customer-focused offerings. Today, Bridgestone serves millions of Indian customers across passenger, commercial, and specialty tyre segments.
In 2025, Bridgestone India established a Satellite Technology Centre at its Pune plant to strengthen the development of “Dan-Totsu”*1 products. This new centre reinforces and accelerates the company’s technology development capabilities, covering the entire engineering chain from material planning to product research, design, and manufacturing for the Indian market.
