Modern High School for Girls, Kolkata, commemorates an extraordinary journey as it reaches the remarkable milestone of seven decades. Established in 1952 by the visionary Mrs. Rukmani Devi Birla, the institution has been at the forefront of providing quality education to young women in a post-Independence environment.
Over the past seven decades, Modern High School for Girls has produced a remarkable roster of alumnae who have made significant contributions nationally and globally. Their achievements stand as a testament to the school’s commitment to academic excellence and nurturing independent, thoughtful, and resilient young women.
Modern High School is also proud to announce the inauguration of Modern High School International in the same campus at Ballygunge, in the heart of Kolkata. The curriculum at Modern High School International is IGCSE and IBDP. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Dr. K Kasturirangan, former Chief of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Mrs. Nirmala Birla, Chairperson, Modern High School international & Modern High School for Girls
