The Rajasthan Foundation hosted a roadshow in Kolkata on Wednesday to promote Rajasthan International Expo 2023 to be held on March 20-22 in Jodhpur. The roadshow was aimed to increase the participation of Rajasthani diaspora and international buyers to the expo. Event take place at Hotel Taj Bengal in Kolkata. The objective of road show is to provide opportunity for networking with the Rajasthanis residing in India and abroad.
The roadshow was addressed by Mr. Rajiv Arora, Chairman, Rajasthan Export Promotion Council & RAJSICO along with Mr. Dheeraj Shrivasatava, Commissioner, Rajasthan Foundation and Mr. Mahendra Parakh, IAS, Commissioner, Industries & Commerce, Government of Rajasthan.
On this occasion, Mr. Rajeev Arora, Chairman, REPC and RAJSICO said the expo is being organized as per the vision of Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Ashok Gehlot. This expo will prove to be a milestone in the state’s export sector. Jodhpur is known as the handicraft capital of India. The handicraft products related to wooden, iron and others being exported from Jodhpur to world wide. Apart from this, the Government of India recently has approved a special assistance of Rs. 95 crores for capacity expansion of the Inland Container Depot operational in Jodhpur.
Mr. Dheeraj Srivastava, Commissioner, Rajasthan Foundation stated that as a result of the policies implemented and efforts being made in an organized manner under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. Ashok Gehlot, the tourism and industrial sectors in the state are receiving a boost. The Rajasthan International Expo will play an important role in the handicraft sector. He also added Rajasthan Foundation is constantly in touch with both resident and non-resident Rajasthanis. With this objective, we recently launched the NRR policy. People of Rajasthan have always contributed significantly to the progress of their motherland, and we hope that this cooperation will continue in the future as well.
On this occasion, Mr. Mahendra Parakh, IAS, Commissioner for Industries shared important information related to the Expo and urged Rajasthanis living abroad to provide all best possible cooperation. He said that in this international expo, handicrafts products ranging from wood and iron furniture, ceramics, and others will be showcased on a grand level. He also urged to take the members of the Rajasthan Export Promotion Council. He said that the businesses and industrial institutions, those are members of the REPC, will be provided many facilities in events including the Expo.
