A press meet was organised today at the Hindustan Club, Kolkata, by Shree Shakti Goenka Trust to announce the forthcoming Goenka Recognition Awards 2026 and share the vision behind this prestigious initiative.
The Goenka Recognition Awards commemorate the remarkable 700-year legacy of the Goenka community, celebrating its enduring tradition of excellence, philanthropy, entrepreneurship, and unwavering commitment to nation-building.
The Goenka Recognition Awards 2026 will be held on 10 September, 2026 at the Goenka Mandir, Fatehpur, Rajasthan, bringing together distinguished members with exemplary achievements of the Goenka community from across the country and outside.
The press meet was chaired by Shri Sushil Goenka, Managing Trustee of the Shree Shakti Goenka Trust. Addressing the gathering, he spoke about the community’s extraordinary journey over seven centuries and its invaluable contributions to India’s economic, social, educational, cultural, and spiritual development.
CA Arun Goenka, Chairman of the Goenka Recognition Awards Committee, highlighted the vision, significance, and objectives of the Goenka Recognition Awards and appealed to eligible individuals to nominate themselves or recommend deserving candidates for consideration.
He informed that the nomination window for the Awards is closing soon, and all nominations must be submitted online through the Trust’s website, https://shreebeerabarjee.org, on or before July 31, 2026.
Following the closure of nominations, the process of final scrutiny and evaluation will commence. The Awards Committee will carefully assess all eligible nominations and recommend a panel of awardees to the prestigious Board of Jury for its consideration and approval.
The names of the award recipients are expected to be announced during August 2026, well in advance of the Goenka Recognition Awards Ceremony, which is scheduled to be held on September 10, 2026.
CA Arun Goenka reiterated that the Goenka Recognition Awards seek to honour individuals whose exceptional achievements, integrity, and dedicated service have made a meaningful impact on society. He encouraged all eligible candidates and well-wishers not to miss this opportunity to recognize excellence by submitting their nominations before the deadline.
It was highlighted that in post-Independence India, the Goenka family’s commitment evolved towards strengthening the foundational pillars of the modern nation through pioneering contributions in industry, media, technology, education, healthcare, philanthropy, and spirituality. The Goenka family has produced generations of visionary leaders whose work has left an enduring impact on contemporary India.
To preserve this rich heritage and inspire future generations, the family established the Shree Shakti Goenka Trust as a living repository of the clan’s history, values, and ideals. Since 2019, the Trust has institutionalised the Goenka Recognition Awards, honouring outstanding individuals from the community whose achievements reflect the values of excellence, perseverance, integrity, and service.
