The Eastern India\u00a0Regional Council\u00a0<\/strong>(EIRC<\/em><\/strong>) of ICAI has organised its annual signature event the\u00a049th Regional Conference\u00a0<\/strong>spread over two days (23rd<\/sup>\u00a0& 24th<\/sup>\u00a0August, 2024) at\u00a0Biswa Bangla Milan Mela Prangan<\/strong>,\u00a0Kolkata<\/strong>\u00a0with the theme\u00a0\u201c<\/em>WE\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>was dedicated to promoting Collaboration, Cooperation, and Coordination, uniting professionals, industry experts, and market leaders where in more than\u00a03500 members<\/strong>\u00a0participated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/strong>The 49th Regional Conference <\/strong>organized by ICAI & EIRC <\/strong>was inaugurated by Padmashri Harshavardhan Neotia <\/strong>\u201cGuest of Honour<\/strong>\u201d, Chairman of Ambuja Neotia Group<\/em>; CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal<\/strong>, Hon\u2019ble President, ICAI<\/em>; CA. Charanjot Singh Nanda<\/strong>, Hon\u2019ble Vice-President ICAI; <\/em>CA. (Dr.) Debashis Mitra<\/strong>, Hon\u2019ble Past President, ICAI<\/em>; CA. Sushil Kumar Goyal<\/strong>, Council Member, ICAI<\/em>; in presence of CA. Aniket<\/strong> Sunil<\/strong> Talati<\/strong> , immediate Past President of ICAI ; CA. Sanjib Sanghi<\/strong>, Chairman, EIRC of ICAI and many other eminent personalities.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing to the media, CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal<\/strong>, Hon\u2019ble President, ICAI<\/em> said, \u201cThe theme \u2018WE\u2019 reflects our commitment to fostering collaboration and synergy within the accounting profession. This conference is a testament to the strength of our collective efforts and the power of unity & also an endeavour towards assisting our professional brethren for professional upskilling.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also said \u201cFor the\u00a0first time, this year ICAI has formed a committee named\u00a0\u201cAI in ICAI\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0to explore how AI can be leveraged for the professional\u00a0development\u00a0of students, member and employees. The committee will explore and prepare a roadmap for artificial intelligence in the operations of the Institute, which can make current processes faster and ultimately help our members and students.\u00a0ICAI CA GPT was launched in July 2024 for members and students\u201d He also added that, \u201cICAI has come up with a noble initiative to educate the Indian masses about the basics of Taxation, Insurance, Banking and various important subject areas of finance through the financial & literacy drive \u2013 VitiyaGyan Abhiyaan. ICAI also has formed BLoAC under ICAI Accounting Research Foundation (ICAI ARF)) which is conducting an exam after a four months Certificate Courses for Accountants of Panchayats and Municipal Bodies. The ICAI is always willing to give its assistance towards overall upliftment of our nation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this Occasion, CA. Sanjib Sanghi<\/strong>, Chairman, EIRC of ICAI<\/em> said, \u201cWe are thrilled to see such a significant turnout at this year\u2019s conference. The engagement and interaction among members and industry leaders underscore the importance of working together to drive progress and innovation in our field.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expecting the hail of over 3500 delegates and 75 dignitaries \u201cWE\u201d<\/strong> the Theme for the conference advocates our strength in Unitedness and Inclusivity.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Conference was spearheaded by the Chairman of the EIRC, CA.
